If you’ve priced out WhatsApp Business API tools, you’ve probably hit the same wall we did: most vendors either hide the number behind a “talk to sales” button, or charge you a subscription on top of what Meta already charges per message.

Here’s how the three platforms compare, using each vendor’s own published pricing.

Wati: subscription tiers, plus a one-time option

Wati’s core plans are monthly subscriptions: Growth at $29/month, Pro at $99/month (their “best value” tier), and Business at $249/month. Annual billing brings the effective monthly rate down, but you’re still paying a recurring platform fee regardless of how many messages you actually send that month.

Wati also offers a pay-as-you-go option: ₹999 once, credited back as ₹999 in message balance, good for roughly 500 messages, with the account valid for 3 months. It’s a reasonable entry point if you don’t want a subscription — but it’s still a fee for using the platform, on top of whatever Meta charges per message.

Kaleyra: enterprise CPaaS, no listed price

Kaleyra — now part of Tata Communications — isn’t really priced against Wati or ThinkMsg at all. It’s a full communications platform: SMS, voice, video, email, RCS, and WhatsApp, plus contact-centre software, sold to large enterprises through a sales team on custom quotes and volume commitments. There’s no price list because there isn’t a fixed price — it depends on your contract.

If you need SMS, voice, and email running through one vendor alongside WhatsApp, that breadth may be worth the sales cycle. If you only need WhatsApp, you’re paying for a lot of platform you won’t touch.

ThinkMsg: free platform, pay Meta only

ThinkMsg’s platform is free, with no time limit and no message cap on the free tier. You only pay two things:

  1. Meta’s own per-message fees — the same fees you’d pay through any provider, passed through at cost. No markup, no platform cut.
  2. AI Support, optional, ₹499/month — if you want an AI assistant answering customer messages 24/7. Skip it and pay nothing beyond Meta’s charges.

We wrote up exactly what those Meta charges look like in practice: a real campaign of 3,942 messages cost ₹1,327 total, zero of which was a ThinkMsg fee.
